Astralis — Story & Lore
In the far reaches of the Tesla Galaxy, humanity is no longer united. Ancient empires collapsed centuries ago, corporations rule entire star systems, and forgotten technologies drift through space like ghosts waiting to be awakened.
At the center of it all lies a forbidden world:
Astralis
A planet erased from galactic records.
No official maps show its location. No government admits it exists. Yet strange signals continue to emerge from deep space — signals tied to lost colonies, vanished fleets, and an ancient force known only as The Entity.
The Beginning
You play as a pilot, explorer, miner, mercenary, or survivor in an open galaxy where every decision shapes your path.
Long ago, humanity expanded across thousands of systems using advanced warp technology called the Thread Network — a system capable of bending gravity and linking distant stars instantly.
Then came The Collapse.
Entire systems disappeared overnight.
Ships emerged decades late.
Colonies went silent.
Stars dimmed for unknown reasons.
Something was moving through the Thread Network.
Something alive.
The Entity
The Entity is not simply a creature.
It is an ancient cosmic intelligence that exists between dimensions, feeding on gravitational energy, dying stars, and technological consciousness. Civilizations throughout history tried to stop it, but none truly destroyed it.
Instead, they sealed fragments of its power inside hidden vaults, abandoned megastructures, and planetary cores.
Those fragments became known as:
Dark-Tech
Dark-Tech allows impossible technological advancement:
- Ships capable of folding space instantly
- Weapons that distort gravity
- AI systems that can predict the future
- Terraforming devices that reshape planets in hours
But Dark-Tech corrupts everything it touches.
Pilots begin hearing voices.
Scientists disappear.
Entire stations become twisted biological-metal nightmares.
Some people become permanently bonded to the technology.
They are called:
The Threadmarked
The Threadmarked gain extraordinary abilities:
- enhanced perception
- gravitational manipulation
- advanced piloting reflexes
- communication with unknown intelligences
But every use of Dark-Tech pulls them closer to The Entity itself.
The Factions
The Helios Dominion
A militarized human empire trying to restore order through absolute control.
They believe Dark-Tech should be weaponized before The Entity returns.
The Nomad Syndicates
Independent explorers, smugglers, miners, and scavengers living beyond regulated space.
Most players begin connected to these outer-rim groups.
The Eclipsed
A cult that worships The Entity as the next stage of evolution.
They willingly fuse themselves with corrupted technology.
The Wardens
Ancient machine intelligences left behind by a forgotten civilization.
Their purpose was to imprison The Entity.
Now their systems are failing.
Your Story
You begin after a catastrophic event aboard the exploration vessel:
Sentinel Dawn
During a deep-space expedition, the ship encounters a massive gravitational anomaly near the dead coordinates of Astralis.
The vessel is destroyed.
Your escape pod drifts through space for years.
When you awaken:
- civilization has changed
- systems are at war
- rumors of Astralis are spreading again
- and your pod contains impossible data tied directly to The Entity
You are one of the only survivors.
And something followed you back.
Core Themes of Astralis
Exploration
Ancient ruins, lost civilizations, hidden worlds, abandoned stations, and procedurally generated planets.
Survival
Manage fuel, oxygen, ship damage, planetary hazards, and hostile environments.
Discovery
Catalog alien ecosystems, uncover forgotten technologies, and decode signals from extinct species.
Choice
Become:
- an explorer
- pirate
- bounty hunter
- trader
- scientist
- warlord
- mercenary
- or something far stranger
Corruption vs Humanity
The deeper players explore forbidden technology, the more powerful — and unstable — they become.
The Mirrorverse
Late in the story, players discover another reality:
The Mirrorverse
A fractured version of the galaxy where The Entity was never contained. Entire civilizations are consumed by endless war and corruption. Planets are broken, stars decay unnaturally, and living darkness spreads through space itself.
Players can travel between realities, but actions in one universe may affect the other.
Endgame Possibilities
The final fate of the galaxy depends on player choices:
- Destroy The Entity permanently
- Control it
- Merge with it
- Seal the Thread Network forever
- Or allow humanity to evolve into something entirely new
No ending is fully good or evil.
Only survival.
